Florida Education Center- Lauderhill is a postsecondary educational institution dedicated to providing quality programs that integrate the curriculum with professional skill development empowering students to achieve their lifelong personal and professional goals.

The School employs instructional methods based on adult learning theory and is committed to the development of each student's intellectual, analytical and critical thinking abilities. Teaching techniques encourage active student participation and may include group discussions and projects, laboratory work, simulations, demonstrations, field trips, guest speakers and lectures. A strong emphasis is placed on ethics, accountability, professionalism and the individual's commitment to pursuing lifelong personal and professional development.

Supportive Environment- Florida Education Center believes that education should promote the development of positive self-esteem and, for that purpose, provides services supportive of student efforts in succeeding academically, vocationally and personally. These services include individual advising, academic tutoring and assistance in locating needed social services.

Professional skills- Florida Education Center helps students reach their educational goals by providing them with the communication skills necessary to work successfully with clients and other professionals, by offering courses that prepare them to successfully participate in society, by equipping them with the knowledge necessary to succeed in a competitive job market and by encouraging them to become involved in professional organizations that will promote their learning and professional skills.

Computer Business Systems program overview- The objective of the Computer Business Systems program is to provide students with skills that will enable them to work in a modern office, call center, help desk or comparable business setting. Train at Florida Education Center

Curriculum- Students will learn administration, keyboarding, client operating systems, help desk support, customer service and computer skills including software, basic computer hardware, applications and office procedures. In order to make students more marketable, instruction in Internet fundamentals and troubleshooting skills is also presented.

Dental Assistant program overview- The objective of the Dental Assistant program is to prepare students for entry-level positions as dental assistants in dental offices, clinics or lab environments, with the skills needed for advancement in the dental field, depending upon the student's goals.

Medical Assistant program overview- The objective of the Medical Assistant program is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for entry-level positions as Medical Assistants. The computer technology and word processing facets of the curriculum enhance the student's potential for placement.

Externship- Prior to graduation, students are required to complete a 160-hour externship program at a local clinic, physician's office, hospital, HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), or other allied health facility where they may also find job opportunities.

Medical Office Specialist program overview- The objective of the Medical Office Specialist program is to prepare students with the knowledge, the technical skills and the work habits required for entry-level positions in the medical field in a private physician?s office, clinic, hospital clerical department, or other medical facility with possible job opportunities.

Word Processing and Transcription- This program includes instruction in word processing and transcription.
