A Rich History of Quality Education

City College was originally established as Draughon's College of Business, a branch of Draughon's Junior College of Business founded in 1895, in Paducah, Kentucky.

In 1986, the College changed its name to CareerCom College of Business, and in December, 1986, was accredited as a free-standing institution by the Accrediting Commission of the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools. In 1987, the College was purchased by Career City College, Inc., and became known as CAREER CITY COLLEGE. In May, 1988, Career City College, Inc. established a branch campus in Gainesville, Florida.

The college received approval from the State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities to offer Associate of Science Degrees at the Ft. Lauderdale campus in Fall, 1989, and at the Gainesville campus in Fall, 1991.

In May, 1992, the College received recognition by the Internal Revenue Service as a Non-Profit Organization 501(c)(3). The officers and control of the institution remained the same. The College revised its name to City College in January, 1994. In June, 1997, City College expanded its educational facilities to include a branch in South Miami, Florida.
