About Us
American Institute of Massage TherapyTradition of Excellence - If you are considering a future as a massage or colon therapist, you can be confident that you will be contributing to the healing of our nation. Stress is a major cause of disease. Our job is to touch, heal, and help others experience the joy and freedom of both. What a wonderful career at your fingertips. We uphold our “Tradition of Excellence” by providing the best education. It is our desire to offer information that will change your life forever! Educating healing hands since 1982 - The American Institute of Massage Therapy evolved from the Palm Beach School of Holistic Massage, originally founded in 1982. In 1987, Lexa Allin Sutherland purchased the school and renamed it the American Institute of Massage Therapy. AIMT operated under Ms. Sutherland's direction until July 2004, when it was purchased by American Institute, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Premier Education Group, LLC. Our philosophy is to create understanding and responsibility - Our approach to health emphasizes wellness, which means regaining, maintaining, or enhancing health. Our training is based on this philosophy and the techniques of therapeutic massage and colon therapy. The principles of natural health play a fundamental role in combining this dynamic integration of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual systems. These will help produce a harmonious balance within the individual. With an understanding and application of wellness, the therapist assists clients in understanding and taking responsibility for their own health.
